Our Partners

Our Partners

Consistent with our mission, fTWC coordinates with and sometimes enters into agreements with governmental agencies and other non-profit organizations.

 Bureau of Land Management

We have an ongoing Cooperative Management Agreement with the BLM Prineville office for the creation, maintenance and management of the BLM land known as the Tumalo Natural Area.  This agreement was initially signed in 2013 to support the Kiosk building and initial set of unauthorized roads and trails closures.

Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife

We work in cooperation with the biologists of the ODFW Bend office, in particular for the annual Winter Deer Range Cooperative Closure which has been in effect for 45 years and is the iconic local example of private public partnership for wildlife habitat conservation.

Oregon Natural Desert Association

We are grateful to our colleagues at ONDA for their willingness to grant us a formal affiliation which allowed us to get fTWC off the ground in a timely manner.

‘Adopt A Road’

fTWC is now a proud sponsor or Deschutes County’s ‘Adopt a Road’ program for Sisemore Road.  We coordinate a cleanup of Sisemore (and its immediate environs) twice a year.  Please indicate your interest in being part of this effort by subscribing to our newsletter and notifications.

Thanks to the Butcha-Wah sponsors for their previous work cleaning up Sisemore. Butch continues to be very enthusiastic about preventing trash being dumped in his favorite running area and continues to be ably assisted by his owners in achieving his goal.

Bend-LaPine and Sisters School Districts

We have past and ongoing science projects with schools in the above School Districts.  We have been able to give them direct financial and volunteer support, as well as arranging the professional help of scientists from OSU and ODA.  We are always looking for new education relationships for future  science projects.  Please contact us via our website.

Other Agencies with whom we have a continuing dialog include:

  • US Department of Forestry
  • Tumalo Irrigation District
  • Deschutes County Sheriff
  • Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA),
  • US Forest Service (USFS),
  • Department of State Lands (DSL)
